Go NUDE or go home

I do love me a classic nude nail colour, it's a bit of a no-nonsense, no-brainer. A nice nude nail colour is every-season-friendly and can be easily slapped on to make you look instantly more groomed and polished. For that extra bit of fun, I sparkled up the nail on my left finger. Simple things for simple minds.

Bring Your Own Boy

I have a bit of an obsession with Sephora by O.P.I nail polishes even though (deep down) inside I have to admit I have owned cheaper polishes of much better quality. There's just something about the colour range, the quirky names and the way they look on display that draws me to them like a mouse to cheese (humour me). If you'd like to see my humble collection click -here-.

This particular colour has been a staple ever since I snapped it up last July, and it's also a favourite of my mum's. It's the perfect winter-spring transition colour and is very complimentary on my skin tone. I'm not much of a pastel nail person, the colours just don't do anything for my hands so I stick to similar colour families but make sure they still have a 'deepness' running through them.

Please excuse how shoddily it's been applied - it was slapped on about 5minutes before I had to leave to go out, as a reflex to recoiling in horror at the state of my bare, woebegone nails. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Under My Trench Coat

Sorry to disappoint but this post isn't really as exciting as the title may lead you to believe...probably because I have yet to find my perfect trench coat...*sigh*. 

It's a simple Nails of the Day featuring "Under My Trench Coat" from Sephora by O.P.I -  a gorgeous grey/taupe with slight brownish undertones and a sheeny finish. 

I have to admit I am one of those people who changes nail colours according to seasons, there's just something wrong about hot pink nails in Autumn (don't kill me!). I love the muted but almost royal tones of Autumn that make me think of fireplaces and jumpers and leaves and candles so I tend to wear burgundy, burnt orange, royal blues and purples, greys and nudes...mmm love. 

I don't particularly feel the need to psycho-analyse this polish, I mean how much could you analyse a nail polish? *says the girl who just wrote a full paragraph on nail colours and seasons* But ahem, here are a few thoughts anyway:

* Beautiful colour, 

* So Autumn, 

* So polished looking 

* Not a 'flat' grey colour like those I see garishly staring at me from Boots stands *coughBarryMcough*

* The sheen/very subtle shimmer effect looks gorgeous when it catches the light

* Very fluid, smooth and ungloopy consistency/formula 

* Does need a top coat or tends to chip easily - really shouldn't happen with such an expensive brand but I'm such a sucker for their colour range I'll still keep buying from them! 

* In the words of Laura (lollipop26/buynowbloglater) - nabbed it, bought it, love it.
